Under the administrative leadership and general direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, plan, implement, guide, organize, and monitor a wide range of programs that conceptualize, define, and assess District compliance with federal and state statutes and Governing Board Policy including nondiscrimination and harassment policies and procedures and equal employment litigation and contract review; ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and regulations related to equal opportunity, civil rights, and discrimination/sexual harassment for students, employees, and the general public for all District activities; serve as the District's designated Title IX Officer; investigate and oversee investigations into compliance complaints; and provide leadership to all constituent groups regarding equal opportunity, civil rights, and prevention of discrimination and/or sexual harassment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: a Bachelor's degree with major course work in psychology, education, sociology, human resources, gender studies, legal studies, or a related field AND five years of experience in a post-secondary institution that includes two years of formal training and experience administering Title IX regulations, policies, and guidelines as well as experience with issues related to gender-based violence, working with diverse populations, counseling in a one-on-one setting, and interpreting federal regulations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three or more years of experience in the area of Title IX coordination; experience conducting investigations of complaints of civil rights violations or sexual assault incidents; leadership experience in an educational setting; training and experience in the area of mediation; administrative experience in behavioral assessment; and/or Title IX compliance.
SALARY:
Range 35, Steps 1-9, $8,069.00-$11,473.00. An excellent benefits package which includes medical, vision, dental, retirement, vacation, generous sick leave package, and life insurance is available for the employee and eligible dependents. This position is a classified exempt position in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and California Education Code Section 88020. The employee holding this position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
WORKING DAYS & HOURS:
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Approximately)
STARTING DATE:
As soon as the successful candidate is identified and following the subsequent governing board approval.
