What We're Looking For
We are seeking an exceptional program director to support the creation of a network of schools and districts in adopting and implementing multi-tiered systems of support, inclusion, and evidence-based special education services for English Learners and bilingual students with disabilities. Key activities include helping establish a professional development network, conducting school outreach and coaching, implementing model demonstration projects, establishing a community of practice, and delivering high-quality training and professional development. Project LEER! is an interdisciplinary project focused on supporting families, students, and teachers of English learners and bilinguals with and without disabilities. The project is funded through the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA). This position is housed within the Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities.
The Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities invests in research, training, outreach, and clinical services that promote the flourishing of people with disabilities, their families, and communities. The Center hosts a growing number of programs, clinics, projects, and events focused on supporting individuals with intellectual disability, autism, and an array of other developmental disabilities. Likewise, we are committed to helping schools and communities welcome and support the full participation of people with disabilities and their families.
A master's degree in education, special education, applied behavior analysis, school counseling, psychology, school psychology, or related field and three years of relevant work experience are required. A doctoral degree is preferred.

- Knowledge of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
- Knowledge of positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS)
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices
- Knowledge of inclusive school practices
- Knowledge of IDEA and special education
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
- Confidence and ability to speak to and with diverse audiences
- Excellent written communication and organization skills
- Knowledge of critical issues and challenges related to school-wide interventions
- Passion for seeing schools become places of inclusion and belonging for all students
A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
- Co-designing and leading the project's work plan
- Leading trainings and workshops for educators and school leaders
- Building and maintaining strong school partnerships throughout the state
- Meeting regularly with faculty leadership on strategy
- Ensuring all initiative projects are completed in timely and effective ways
- Assisting with recruitment for studies, trainings, and other projects
- Contributing to dissemination activities
- Writing project reports
- Ensuring all of our materials are accessible, engaging, and culturally responsive
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
