About the Opportunity:
Working closely and at the direction of the AVP of Facilities Services, the Senior Director of Facilities Services will assist with the direction, organization, coordination of the overall performance of Building Services, Landscape Services, Suburban Campus Facilities, Athletic Facilities and the Transportation and Fleet Management departments.

Responsibilities:
Responsible in assisting the AVP in the delivery of services in a cost-efficient and timely manner meeting the needs of the campus community on a daily basis. Collaborate with Facilities Services Directors and HR on Building Services and Transportation/Warehousing union negotiations. Assist AVP with crisis management and special event management as required. Work in partnership with the Facilities Services Directors in the development, supervision and coordination of all the areas under the responsibilities of the AVP of Facilities Services, to include the cleaning of over 8 million square feet of academic and dormitory facilities; coordination of maintenance schedules of building service and landscaping operations at all Northeastern campuses, Athletic Facilities operations, and Transportation/Warehousing/Fleet operations. Work closely with the AVP to plan and manage the contracts that fall under the responsibilities of the AVP of Facilities Services including development of RFP's and negotiating contracts. Responsible for communicating out to the campus community the impact of operations that fall under the responsibility of the AVP of Facilities Services.

Maintain and establish standards and protocols and act as coordinator between the University and contractors associated with cleaning, pest control and snow removal. Develop, analyze and control budgets. Develop and oversee curriculum for safety and other trainings for services personnel in partnership with HR. Work in cooperation with the AVP to manage and oversee all emergency facilities services operations, i.e. snow removal, flood cleanup, along with being a strategic part of the Crisis Management Team. Assist in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans and oversee training of related personnel in these areas throughout the year. Participate in all crisis management drills and review protocols regularly. Advise SVP on protocols and policies to ensure response in emergency events is professional and competent. Be available 24/7/365 for on-campus facilities-related emergencies for management of operational staff as needed. Provide feedback to AVP and VP to establish improved procedures in emergency events.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree preferably in Business/Management or related field and 10 years of seasoned managerial experience specifically in services field at a large institution. Proven leadership skills and experience. Strong communication and articulation skills as well as experience with union negotiations. Proven ability to work with personnel at all levels within the University. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse workforce. Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations. This position requires a criminal background check.
