Join Santa Clara University and help the next generation of entrepreneurs acquire the life skills of an entrepreneur and start their own ventures! Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a resource hub and academic development program that promotes and encourages the Entrepreneurial Mindset across campus through academics, competitions, and on-campus programs and events.

The Program Director at Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Ciocca Center) will be responsible for the direction and oversight of Ciocca Center programs for instilling an Entrepreneurial Mindset. Ciocca Center deeply engages students starting at the time of admissions with experiential and classroom learning opportunities associated with developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset. This position is an opportunity to work with the Ciocca Center team to manage the scale up and deployment of these programs and help to institutionalize these and other programs.

The Program Director will join other Ciocca Center Program Directors with responsibility for programs and operations including program logistics, managing a budget, potentially supervising personnel, and achieving the goals of the strategic plans. The team environment in Ciocca Center is entrepreneurial and success requires excellent teamwork and the willingness to collaborate with other team members and the flexibility to move from project to project and manage multiple projects. This role supports the Executive Director in strategic planning, stewardship and external relations. The role reports directly to the Ciocca Center Executive Director.

The Ciocca Center mission and charter is University wide and includes graduate and undergraduate students from the arts & sciences, business, engineering, law, education and counseling psychology and theology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Enjoys working with students and creates a positive, inclusive, teaching/learning experience in all areas of Ciocca Center's activities.
  • People-person with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude that conveys positivity and excitement.
  • Energetic, very organized, responsive and able to juggle many activities at once with extensive program management experience.
  • Proactively engages students, other center team members, SCU faculty and staff, and Silicon Valley partners.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to lead projects independently as well as play supporting roles across the center, working closely with others within and outside the Center, and able to manage operational tasks on an ongoing basis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to communicate appropriately to different constituencies, including students, parents, alumni, employers, faculty, leadership, donors, etc.
  • Strong marketing and social media skills with the ability to create social media and marketing plans that are appropriate for different constituencies.
  • Ability to work closely with faculty to build the academic foundations that will support the Center's experiential learning programs.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and manage activities and programs
  • Oversight of Ciocca Center programs and activities
  • Maintain and execute the annual calendar of events
  • Recruit students, faculty and alumni to build and participate in new and existing programs.
  • Plan and organize events that engage all constituents (students, alumni, friends, faculty, staff, donors, etc.)
  • Create, maintain and execute schedules for programs and activities
  • Create and implement program best practices
  • Work with the Faculty Director on connecting academic programs
  • Provide insights into the entrepreneurship minor expansion and management
  • Maintain budgetary documents for Ciocca Center programs



Connect and engage with student organizations
  • Form relationships with student clubs and organizations on campus
  • Identify and seize upon opportunities to engage students from all disciplines
  • Develop and coordinate immersion trips, field trips, internships, mentorships
  • Help build, recruit, evolve and manage the student advisory board
  • Create a vibrant, friendly and inclusive student outreach and engagement program


Supervise student interns
  • Help to recruit, interview and hire student interns
  • Identify and structure appropriate projects for students
  • Oversee projects and manage transitions between intern teams
  • Provide a positive, teaching/learning environment for student interns


Marketing and Silicon Valley and Industry Engagement
  • Create and implement marketing plans that are appropriate for different constituencies.
  • Work with university groups to maintain a vibrant, friendly and inclusive website presence
  • Support student interns in maintaining an active, student-focused social media presence
  • Identify and procure appropriate marketing items to further the Center's Brand
  • Establish and implement customized outreach programs appropriate to each constituency (prospective students, parents, current students, employers, alumni, donors, faculty, staff, etc.)
  • Provide a consistent positive interface to alumni, parents, partners and friends

GENERAL GUIDELINES
  • Recommends initiatives and implements changes to improve quality and services.
  • Identifies and determines cause of problems; develops and presents recommendations for improvement of established processes and practices.
  • Maintains contact with customers and solicits feedback for improved services.
  • Maximizes productivity through use of appropriate tools; planned training and performance initiatives.
  • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
  • Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions.
  • Prepare and submit reports as requested and required.
  • Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.
