Job Description:
As a member of the School's senior management team, the Director will work closely with the Dean and the leadership team to set financial and budgetary priorities. This position necessitates a collaborative, service-oriented individual with strong organizational skills able to multitask in an atmosphere characterized by deadlines and changing priorities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Directs and guides the development of the annual budget and multi-year financial plan for the College in support of the College's Strategic vision; Assists in the preparation of revenue projections and budgetary analyses to facilitate decision-making on resource allocation strategies; Assists in the development of College policies and procedures consistent with best practices to maximize expenditure management and revenue objectives; acts as a liaison between the Dean's Office and its college departments regarding college-wide financial and human resource policies and procedures; Oversees complex and confidential issues related to employment, compensation, appointment letters, and employee relations Responsible for improving college Human Resource policies, processes, and practices and recommending changes to leadership; Manages and monitors the current year budget.

Budget Development
- Responsible for budget development and monitoring. Participates in the design and implementation of financial models, including forecasting models, in support of the College's initiatives.
- The Director will develop and update a comprehensive multi-year financial plan for the College; its programs and departments.
- Work closely with the University Budget Office on monthly estimated finals and the development of the College long range plan.
- Administer and coordinate all human resource management and faculty contract matters, including but not limited to; oversee staff searches, the annual performance review process, coordinate faculty search requests, review offer letters, and ensure compliance with union contract for part time faculty.
- Resolve human resource issues and advise departments on procedures.
- Make certain all college payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Academic Affairs, Human Resources and the Payroll Office to resolve any issues or in collaborative manner to enhance processes.
- Coordinate and direct Dean's Office finance staff to develop appropriate oversight and support for all spending, i.e., purchasing, travel, student grant authorizations, etc.
- Ensure that all administrative staff across the college follow University guidelines and procedures. Serve as authorized signer for all program funds to include unrestricted, restricted and endowed accounts.
- Coordinate the load-sharing across departments for all pre- and post-award management.
- Work closely with the Purchasing Office, Disbursements, Physical Plant, Offices of Sponsored Programs and Accounting, the Treasurer's Office, and the Graduate School to resolve any issues or in collaborative manner to enhance processes.
- Provide budget analyses by developing sound financial reports and long-range forecasting; prepare short-term and long-range income and expense budgets; and analyze past budgets to forecast annual budgets for all operating units.
- Perform highly complex financial and resource research studies to generate new financial and other resource reports; analyze all sources of revenue to include grants, gifts, endowment, and tuition and make recommendations for maximizing the College financial resources.
- Analyze and review all College restricted and endowment accounts and prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for the dean and department chairs.
- Monitor all restricted and endowed funds to ensure that these financial resources are used effectively and according to donor requirements.
- Develop forecasts and annual budgets for these funds as required.
- Recommend gift and endowed funds that can be used to relieve unrestricted fund expenditures across the college.
