Job Summary

Manage, coordinate, develop and implement a comprehensive advisement support resource development program for recognized organizations at Georgia Southern. Provide continuity, infrastructure development, training, support services advisement and program oversight to officers and members of the University Programming Board. Serve as leader and team player to promote the goals and carry out the mission of the Division of Student Affairs, Office of Student Activities, Georgia Southern University.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance current student engagement efforts, including Student Organization Fairs, Weeks of Welcome, Homecoming and additional on-campus and community building opportunities.
  • Lead and manage full-time coordinator and graduate assistant for Student Organizations Development
  • Facilitate, support and coordinate assessment practices and implementation of programming and activities to determine needs and services of student organizations
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive leadership training for student organization leaders based on core competencies and best practices
  • Assist in strategic planning for department including short and long term master planning for student organization development
  • Develop learning outcomes and assessment plans with timeline for achievement
  • Support evening and weekend programming and campus activities
  • Support University recruitment and retention activities directed through the Division


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

Other Required Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain a Purchasing Card

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related professional work experience
  • Experience working at an institution of comparable size to Georgia Southern
  • Supervisory Experience


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Higher Education student services or Counseling Education

Preferred Experience
  • Student advising experience
  • Collegiate student programming experience
  • Budget management
  • Experience with Presence (student engagement platform)
  • Experience working with registered student organizations and advisors
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Conflict management


Proposed Salary

$47,000 - $52,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
