Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Clinical Services oversees all aspects of clinical service provision within the CSDC, and serves as a member of the CSDC Leadership Team. In collaboration with the Director, the Associate Director engages in strategic planning to inform the provision of high quality clinical services with a focus on inclusivity and best practices in the context of a liberal arts, residential, co-curricular institution. Oversees the maintenance of the center client database within the Titanium Electronic Medical Record Software and provides summary reports when requested. Conducts psychological evaluations and provides brief therapy in individual and group settings for Bucknell students. Provides crisis intervention, consultation and psychological programming to the Bucknell community. In collaboration with the Director, provides supervision to staff and graduate students in various training programs. Assumes Director's responsibilities when the Director is away from the office. The successful candidate will be an experienced psychologist, counselor or social worker.
Candidates will be selected based on a comprehensive review of their qualifications and experience relative to the minimum requirements of the position.
The hiring range with a master's degree with 5+ years of experience post licensure is $72,640 - $90,800.
The hiring range with a PhD/PsyD/Ed.D with 3+ years of experience post licensure is $80,000 - $100,000.

Job Duties:
Reporting Relationships / Direct Reports:
- Associate Director of Clinical Services reports to the Director, Counseling and Student Development Center.
What You'll Do:
Administrative and Strategic Leadership:
- Serves as a member of the CSDC leadership team and participates in developing and implementing the strategic direction of the center.
- Provides direction and coordination for the center's clinical services, including assessment, individual and group counseling, referral process, consultation, and crisis intervention.

- Updates clinical area policies and procedures manual to insure best practices and compliance with ethical and legal standards. Develops and implements new procedures, as needed. Oversees the quality assurance of clinical services.
- Updates the Director on clinical activity and provides utilization reports when requested.
- Coordinates data collection, including Standardized Data Set; Client Satisfaction Survey; and severe and urgent data, Screens any research proposals that involve clinical services.
- Completes a comprehensive annual report at the end of every academic year.
- Coordinates the weekly case conference.
- Assumes Director's responsibilities when the Director is away from the office
Clinical Services:
- Provides direct services to students, including brief individual and group psychotherapy, initial assessments, daytime and after hours crisis coverage and consultation, and referral to off-campus providers, when indicated.
- Maintains clinical records and necessary statistics of therapeutic and other client contacts in accordance with department policies and expectations.
- Consults with psychiatrists regarding policies and procedures for prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medication for psychotherapy patients.
- Consults with parents, physicians, faculty, academic deans, residence education staff, off-campus counseling services, other campus offices and students, when appropriate, and with appropriate authorization in order to provide quality care to students.
Community-Based Collaborations and Consultations:
- Conducts outreach and developmental programming, as requested, including firesides, orientation sessions for new students and families, workshop presentations and emergency support services to the campus community.
Supervision and miscellaneous:
- Supervises pre-licensed staff and will assist the Director with full employment supervision to include reviews, performance management, etc.
- Supervises masters and doctoral level graduate students in training.
- Participates in Student Affairs committees, in consultation with and/or as assigned by the Director.
- Attends and participates in regular CSDC staff meetings and in-service training
Non Essential Functions:

- On campus and some remote work if deemed clinically appropriate.
What You'll Bring:
Education:
- PhD/PsyD/Ed.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a closely related field OR Master's of Social Work OR Master's degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a closely related field.
Professional Work Experience:
- For Psychologists, three or more years of post-licensure experience in a mental health field.
- For Master's degree candidates, five or more years of experience post-licensure in a mental health field.
Professional Certification or License:
- Licensure: Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Pennsylvania or license-eligible to practice in Pennsylvania and able to provide proof of credentials as part of the pre-hire process OR Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or Professional Counselor in the State of Pennsylvania or license-eligible to practice in Pennsylvania and able to provide proof of credentials as part of the pre-hire process. Licensure must be secured within 6 months of start date.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong clinical skills and expertise in providing brief psychotherapy to college students. Extensive experience in risk assessment and crisis intervention. Knowledge of best practices and legal, ethical, and regulatory issues in mental health. Strong consultation skills around critical mental health issues affecting students.
- Ability to analyze and summarize center utilization and other data to assist in advocating for resources and in educating the campus community about trends.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to convey warmth and remain calm during times of crisis. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in leadership and mental health care delivery.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting diverse and underserved populations, offering therapeutic services, and collaborating with campus communities to promote inclusion and well-being.

Professional Work Experience:
- Three or more years of experience working in a counseling center at an institution of higher education.
Knowledge Areas and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience collaborating across disciplines and campus partners.
- Knowledge of models of prevention and health promotion and experience conducting community outreach.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to move equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time; sit or stand at a computer and use a mouse/keyboard for long periods of time.
- Able to move about the office to access file cabinets and office equipment such as phones, copiers and printers.
- Able to work in an environment with a moderate level of interruptions.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
