Utah Valley University (UVU) is seeking an Assistant Director of Donor Engagement to join our Donor Relations team. Summary of Responsibilities
- Assists the Director of Donor Relations in creating and executing a thorough process for recognizing, acknowledging, stewarding, and engaging principal-level donors, with an emphasis on measurable and trackable outcomes to enhance donor retention. Assists in developing strategies and systems to ensure that principal-level donors feel appreciated and connected to the organization. Plans and orders materials and promotional items (swag) tailored to principal-level donors to provide a meaningful and personalized experience for these donors, fostering long-term relationships and continued support.
- Collaborates closely with the VP of Institutional Advancement to enhance the stewardship and engagement of members and representatives of the President's EverGREEN Society and contributes to strategies to deepen relationships and ensure ongoing support. Assists in the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) specifically for principal donors.
- Fosters strong and meaningful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate donor engagement across campus, including collaborating with faculty, staff, and administrative departments to identify opportunities for donor involvement in various campus activities and initiatives. Contributes to a cohesive and integrated approach to donor relations, enhancing the overall donor experience and strengthening their connection to the institution.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of experience directly related to the Summary of Duties OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling six years.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Communication, Public Relations, English, or a related field, or equivalency and three years of experience in a related field.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Knowledge of and experience with fundraising procedures, techniques, and best practices.
- Experience with institutional advancement, nonprofit, or higher education, or business management, with administrative, customer service, and retention practices.
- Knowledge of computer systems and software, including spreadsheets, word processing, graphics presentation, and databases.
- Knowledge and expertise in the use of English grammar, punctuation, and syntax for both written and verbal communications.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with and steward relationships with donors, alumni, and friends of the institution.
- Must be detailed oriented with the ability to work well as member of a team and with others across campus to achieve shared goals.
- Skills in task prioritization, time management, customer service, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Innovative, strategic thinker with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic, robust attention to detail, superb organizational skills and analytical abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service. Poised, professional manner with the ability to express oneself clearly and empathetically in interactions with others in all forms of communication, verbal and written, one-on-one and group, etc.
- Ability to communicate in a direct and professional manner that engages dialogue in a manner that resolves differences.
- Intrinsically motivated and able to create innovative ideas to achieve results. Recognizes and seizes opportunities.
- Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities, and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Takes responsibility and initiative to set and meet goals, objectives, and obligations while representing the mission, visions, and values of the organization.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all matters to ensure trustworthy relationships.
- Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment when interacting with others.
- Experience with Raiser's Edge, and Social Tables is preferred.
- Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.
